A Leading Medical Institution
Medical University Pleven is one of Bulgaria’s top 5 medical institutions, established in 1974. It originated from the City Hospital founded in 1865, creating a robust environment for practical training and real-world medical experience.
Comprehensive Medical Program
The university offers a six-year medical program in English, consisting of 2 years of pre-clinical studies, 3 years of clinical studies, and 1 year of internship. Students are exposed to cutting-edge technology and research, with hands-on training opportunities in specialized medicine and renowned hospitals.
Globally Recognized Qualification
Graduates earn a Master’s Degree and professional qualification recognized in the EU and beyond. The university is fully compliant with the standards set by the European Union for medical education, and graduates are successful in licensing examinations such as the USMLE, PLAB, and other national medical exams worldwide.

Student Accommodation
The University has two student hostels with over 400 beds. The hostel rooms are double and triple-bed rooms, centrally heated, each having a bathroom. Students are not required to live in the hostels and may choose private accommodation instead. Meals are provided at the students’ canteen at a discount.
